I have to stop writing about TV... but I can't help myself. I have a question that must be answered!
People: why is no one watching Sean Saves the World?
This freshman comedy starring Sean Hayes is an old school sitcom a la Friends and Will and Grace. It doesn't rely on the massive arcs of How I Met Your Mother, just a simple one episode at a time riff... and it is well written and well acted. These folks are funny! But regardless, Sean Save the World remains the lowest rated NBC show not to be cancelled yet. Sean Hayes is adorably neurotic. I have a huge crush on Echo Kellum and his hilarious one-liners as Hunter. Megan Hilty is brassy and sassy and genuinely funny as good-time girl Liz. Linda Lavin dances around the delicate critical/loving/vivacious mom line. Samantha Isler is a truly charming daughter. And I can't figure out what the heck Parvesh Cheena's character Jerry is all about, but I like it! And please, for the love of all that is moustachioed... take a little time to relish Tom Lennon's outlandish turn as Max the inexplicable boss. This is a really fun ensemble comedy with sharp, clever writing, and you should all be watching it. Watch it right now. Watch it on Thursday nights on NBC. For realsies. If NBC were smart, they would let this show live out its season at the very least, because it is the smartest new property they have going!
